And That’s a Wrap! 2025 Spring Season Closing Ceremonies

Thank you to all the NWBA and Diamondsides families who joined us at our Closing Ceremonies and Summer Kickoff at Queen’s Park Stadium on Father’s Day (June 15th, 2025) to celebrate the end of the spring baseball season and the start of the postseason.

It was fantastic to see everyone come together under sunny skies to celebrate the successes of both leagues! The ceremonies included high fives for NWBA’s players courtesy of the Diamondsides, participation medals for all T-Ball and Rookie players, and brand-new practice shirts for all NWBA players. 😎

Standout players from each of the following NWBA divisions–Rookie, Minor, and Major–were recognized for their special achievements this spring, and several Diamondsides players also received awards. Congrats to all of you!

Congratulations, as well, to Alek S. and Liam C., recipients of the 2025 NWBA Justin Morneau Scholarship! Alek and Liam were presented with their awards at the closing ceremonies. We wish Alek and Liam all the best with their post-secondary studies!

Given that volunteers are the heart and soul of our league, the ceremonies were also an occasion to recognize two exceptional NWBA volunteers who have dedicated a tremendous amount of their time and effort to our league over the last two years: Kevin Miller (Equipment and Safety Officer) and Craig West (Registrar). Thank you so much, Kevin and Craig!

Sloane Drennan (Player Agent) and TJ Drennan (IT Coordinator and Past President), Kimberly Grant (Field and Umpire Scheduler), and Marti Longstaff (Volunteer Coordinator) were also recognized for their numerous contributions to our league, both past and present.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this season a fun and memorable one for all our young athletes! ⭐

A special mention goes out to Anja Juosku (Special Events Coordinator) for being our master of ceremonies, and to Kenrich L., umpire and budding photographer, for sharing some wonderful photos of the ceremonies with us.
